ENGINEERING SERVICES - CIVIL ENGINEER WITH REMEDIATION EXPERIENCE

The Opportunity BluMetric Environmental Inc. is busy and looking for a senior civil engineer to work with our amazing team in the Sudbury Office. If you are stuck in a position with no clear path to the top, come and work for us. This role will focus on Environmental Remediation projects. The individual will have practical experience in environmental remediation and will be a key leader in mid-sized to large-scale projects. Minimum Qualification Requirements - Civil Engineering degree with, or eligible to attain P.Eng. Designation in Ontario. - Minimum 15-20 years civil engineering experience; experience in the mining sector an asset. - Solid understanding of geology, physical and chemical hydrogeology, contaminated site investigations, delineation, and remediation. - Solid understanding of a broad range of remediation technologies including passive and active acid mine drainage treatment; soil and groundwater remediation; and in-situ and ex-situ methods. - Demonstrated experience managing all facets of environmental remediation including but not limited to remediation feasibility studies, pre-design investigations, and remedial design, remedial systems operations and optimization. - Experience designing civil works including retention ponds, pipelines, stormwater conveyances, pumping stations - Must be able to evaluate requirements and prepare bids and proposals, conduct preliminary evaluations, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications, prepare permit submittals, and assist in providing bid services and construction monitoring. - Experience in costing (capital, operating and legacy) remedial options. - Proven project management skills; PMP would be an asset. - Familiarity with current safety regulations and best practices related to industrial and mine sites. - Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to write polished professional technical reports. - Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail; track record of quality work products. - Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Civil 3D. Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required. - Ability and willingness to travel to project sites with some overnight travel and holding a valid driver's license. Duties & Job Responsibilities - Reports to Engineering Manager and leads on-going environmental assessment and remediation projects. - Participate in the training, coaching and development of junior and intermediate engineering staff. - Ensure that environment and safety regulatory compliance plans are implemented for all project activities in accordance with applicable regulations, company and client policies and procedures and permitting requirements. - Develop, implement and maintain appropriate project communication plans to interface with the client, project staff, agencies and stakeholders. - Assist in planning of work, scope definition and coordinate development of cost and schedule for client proposals and projects.
